About
A pianist between concert hall, museum, and film
“Everything that happens on stage is felt on stage — the performer is both creator and part of the staging.”
Katinka von Richter is a concert pianist and multidisciplinary artist from Munich, based in France, her adopted country, since 2015. Her career has taken her to Switzerland, Italy, New York, Germany, and South America — and to Paris, where she has lived and worked since her residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts.
Her on-stage creations of "concert-performances" link classical music with other art forms and are presented in museums such as the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, the Musée national Port-Royal, and the Fondation Pernod Ricard. Live broadcasts on Radio France and her own short-film series "Instant Piano Paris" carry her playing far beyond the concert hall.
Since 2023, she has been a professor of piano solo at the Rachmaninoff Conservatory in Paris.
Performance-Recitals
A different kind of concert
Sometimes through words, sometimes via pantomime, installations in the concert hall, and video clips created for the programme: Performance-Recitals surprise — yet always originate from the selected masterpieces. An attempt to transform the classical recital into a holistic experience.
